The ‘Futures’ Program
This year WUFC would like to introduce an exciting new opportunity for girls born between 2011-2004. We are calling this program Futures.
It is a well established fact that team sport involvement supports positive mental health. It’s also been demonstrated that most girls value camaraderie and a sense of belonging above all other things when asked why they play sports. The hope is that the Futures program will allow girls of many ages to feel included and part of something larger.
The Futures program will take place on Sundays throughout the months of October-February for 1.5 hours. Some activities will involve the group as a whole, all mixed up together. Other sessions will see the whole group doing the same activity but divided up by age into different parts of the field-house. The programming for the year will be set out ahead of time by the technical director of the club, Neil Sedgwick. The focus will be on development of a shared soccer language and experiences.
- The FUTURES Program will be held on Sundays, 1:00-2:30 p.m. on the Canada Games Centre turf
- November 14, 21, December 12, 19, January 9, 16, 23, 30, February 13, 20, 27
- The registration fee for the FUTURES Program is TBD.
